In late 2019, Schools Plus hosted a webinar on engaging girls in STEM education, featuring 2019 Teaching Fellows Sarah Chapman (Townsville State High School, QLD) and Ashley Stewart (Newton Moore Senior High School, WA).

Sarah shared her international research on benchmarks for successful STEM education programs and practical insights to better engage and retain girls in STEM-related pathways, some of which she implemented at Townsville State High School.

Ashley talked about her approach to engaging girls at Newton Moore Senior High School, the challenges and successes experienced, approaches to engage parents and the community, and how she knows the school is having an impact. This was followed by a Q&A session with the audience.
