Michael Ha is reshaping what’s possible for disengaged students through his work at Toogoolawa School, a Special Assistance School for boys on the Gold Coast. As Deputy Principal, Michael is leading whole school transformation grounded in relational pedagogy, values-based education, and evidence-informed practice.

He has shaped an approach to re-engagement that weaves together wellbeing, structured academic learning and future focused pathways. Under his leadership, the school has experienced measurable improvements in student engagement, classroom stability and post school transitions.

Michael empowers staff through a collaborative coaching model and structured professional learning that connects trauma informed practice with instructional clarity. Beyond his school, he has supported educators and leaders nationwide through the Institute of Deeper Learning and founded the Fearless Futures female wellbeing and leadership summits for primary and high school girls.

With a strong focus on sustainability and system change, Michael partners with families, employers and community services to create long term pathways for students. His work is driven by a deep belief in every young person’s potential, and a commitment to building schools where care, structure and connection are the foundation of learning.
