Eloise Boyd is the Complex Behaviour Support Coordinator whose whole-school implementation of the Berry Street Education Model has transformed how students regulate, engage and learn.
Identifying through suspension data, behaviour referrals and classroom observations that dysregulation was undermining outcomes, Eloise used a Multi-Tiered Systems of Support mapping process to pinpoint gaps across the school’s support tiers.
After training in the Berry Street model, she led a staged rollout of Ready to Learn routines, Morning Circles and regulation check-ins, backed by coaching cycles and classroom walkthroughs.
As Berry Street instructional leader, Eloise has built lasting capability across her school through demonstration lessons, collaborative planning and action research, creating psychologically safe forums for staff to refine their practice together. Her influence now extends beyond her own school, supporting the Wheatbelt Education Region in developing its own network of Behaviour Coordinators and embedding coaching cycles and data review processes that have lifted the fidelity of trauma-informed practice school-wide.
Recognising that families often had little insight into the school’s approach to social-emotional development, Eloise engaged the School Board to help close the gap between home and school, co-designing a Family Wellbeing Guidance Document that shares practical regulation strategies with families. The result has been greater transparency and shared ownership across the school community, with families reporting more confidence supporting their children’s emotional regulation.
