Covered Path Project

Yorkeys Knob State School, QLD

Yorkeys Knob State School is located in the beach side suburb of Yorkeys Knob in Far North Queensland. Our school is set on a large property with beautiful gardens and lots of room for the students to play. Our 245 students are friendly, respectful and exceptional learners who are supported by an experienced, caring team of principal, teachers and parents.

One thing our school is lacking is a covered walkway from the front gate to the first covered area.  During our torrential wet season, students have to scurry along the 48m path trying to avoid the incessant rain and large puddles. They arrive to class drenched and it takes a long time for them to dry off. This sets them back from trying their best as they are distracted by how uncomfortable they feel.

A covered 48m path will cost approximately $45,000. Our P&C Association volunteers have been working hard on fundraising, and have raised almost $20,000 to contribute towards the project.

The balance is too much to raise alone. We need your help.

Your contribution towards our covered path is greatly appreciated by our whole school community. Don't forget that all donations over $2 are tax deductible.
