We are excited to welcome five new Fair Education Leadership Coaches

The Fair Education Program is an exciting initiative of Schools Plus and the Vincent Fairfax Family Foundation. The program is a catalyst for significant change within the participating schools and in the NSW education system, and is based on the belief that any meaningful transformation in education must be led by the teaching profession.

Now in its second year, the program aims to develop the capacity of school leaders in disadvantaged schools in NSW to better engage families and communities in student learning. The program has significantly grown this year presenting a unique opportunity to further enrich our coaching approach as well as to make our model more sustainable.

We are therefore excited to welcome five incredibly experienced education leaders into the Fair Education coaching team:

Our new Fair Education Learning Coaches(1)

Lynne Bailey

Lynne has had a rich and diverse career in education; teaching in primary, secondary and central schools; in the city, regions and remote areas; in comprehensive, mixed mode and selective schools; from high to low SES contexts; and in Australian and the UK.

Geoff Wing

Geoff is an education consultant and fully accredited executive leadership and solution focused coach who is very experienced in providing support to school leaders and administrators across Australia. With more than thirty-eight years of involvement in leadership and management in NSW secondary schools and with regional support personnel, Geoff is a highly experienced and credentialed former educational leader and teacher.

Jeff Bruce

Jeff is the Director of Education at Australian Schools Plus and has extensive experience in education in a career that has spanned almost 40 years. He is a former Director with the NSW Department of Education where he had responsibility for 34 schools in The Hills area in the North-Western suburbs of Sydney.

Neil Worsley

Neil has 38 years of school experience including leadership with disadvantaged, Aboriginal, multicultural and middleclass communities, as well as experience in teaching in the UK.  As a College Principal, Neil facilitated a team of five principals working across five campuses leading and managing over 370 teachers and 4000 students towards school excellence.

Peter Morgan

In 42 years working in education, Peter has been a school leader for over 25 years, including as principal in 4 very different schools (Wilcannia CS, Monaro HS – Cooma, Belmont HS, Brewarrina CS) over 21 years. He has worked as a curriculum consultant and NSW state coordinator of the innovative National Schools Project. He has led in remote, rural, regional, metropolitan and international schools and taught from kindergarten to university.

These coaches will be following the key principles of Fair Education coaching which have been developed under the leadership of our Director of Coaching, Eric Jamieson. They will also bring with them additional ideas and insights that will continue to grow the coaching model in the next stage of development.

Eric will maintain connections with all Fair Education projects and will be available, as always, for discussions with all project leaders. His direct coaching role will be reduced to allow him to guide the strategic development of Fair Education. Geraldine Baillet will lead the coordination, quality and consistency of delivery as the model continues to grow.

Schools Plus is delighted to welcome Lynne, Geoff, Jeff, Neil and Peter!
